Schools Tree Day on Friday 29th July saw Robina students come together for a special assembly dedicated to education around environmental awareness and the importance of planting trees.
Joined by special guests Councillor Hermann Vorster, P&C President Sascha Voevodin, Robina Garden Club volunteer coordinators Mrs Tracey Monk and Mrs Christine Ewings and school leaders, the students were treated to an informative and entertaining presentation.
Cr Vorster, Local City of Gold Coast Councillor for Division 11 covering Robina & Varsity Lakes, generously donated 500 native trees to be given away to the children — an announcement that stirred excitement amongst the student audience.
Hermann presented the first trees to the school leaders and Garden Club coordinators on stage, before Louise Kelly (one of our very talented Robina parents) impressed everyone with her funny, memorable and educational song about trees.
