Here are the highlights from our April meeting last night:

» WE’RE GETTING A PHONE APP!! Keep your eyes out for our new school app which will be available to download to your smart phone in Term 2 to help you stay up to date with what’s on at school – including notifications and reminders straight to your phone, individual class, sport and music groups to help you get all the latest and most relevant info, events calendar, digital notes and more! More details coming soon…

» Our new Millie the Mathematician and Suzie the Scientist home readers have arrived and are being prepared to be used from Term 2.

» We are excited to welcome Lisa Turner as our new OSHC Lead Coordinator. Lisa has been with us for 13 years as part of the OSHC Leadership Team and we are thrilled to have her as the new head of our OSHC service.

» Thank you for everyone who volunteered, fundraised and supported our School Run4Fun Colour Explosion. It was a massive success and final fundraising figures will be announced at the next meeting. Thank you also to those that volunteered in the CPAC canteen for the Interschool Chess Tournament last week, helping to raise money for Chappy Paul.

» Be sure to check out the awesome new furniture, decorations and play equipment we have in the OSHC Mod 2 room – the kids are loving it! Thank you to everyone who helped with the working bees to revamp that area and special thanks to 4kidsnmore for the wonderful new (locally made) quality wooden play equipment!!

» Upcoming events we will need volunteers for:
— Mother’s Day Stall – 8 May (+ pricing day in week 1 term 2)
— Election BBQ – mid-May (TBC)
— Fanfare – 27 May
Thank you to everyone who donated gifts to our Mother’s Day re-gift-athon!!!

» Senior Shirts have gone home this week

» Project priorities for this year include:
— Perimeter CCTV thanks to Divisional Donations from the wonderful Councillor Hermann Vorster
— Senior playground
— Library & CPAC cooling
— Year 5/6 toilets and improvement of classroom area
— More seating around school
— Better bag protection for wet weather
— New bubblers on oval
These are based on the feedback we received from the recent parent survey… you spoke, we heard you! We will do our best to get through as much as we can this year and next.

» We are supporting our Garden Club with more soil and supplies. If you have any time / skills or goods to donate to our garden club, please get in touch: gardenclub@robinasspandc.com.au

» Our tuckshop is struggling, we REALLY need more volunteers for Term 2 – specifically Mon & Wed 9-11am. If you can help out on these days please email tuckshop@robinasspandc.com.au, send us a message on Facebook or pop in and see the ladies. We’ll be launching a new volunteer rewards program in Term 2 – stay tuned!!

» A motion was made to make a significant financial contribution to the school again this year (as we have in previous years) of:
— $5000 to Sport Program
— $5000 to Music Program
— $5000 to STEAM Program
— $5000 to Chaplaincy
— $30,000 donation to the school budget
We are very fortunate to be able to support our school in this way, and the fruits of these contributions can be seen in our many music, sporting, STEAM and academic achievements as well as in the wonderful resources and facilities our kids have at Robina.

» NEXT MEETING: Wed 8th May @ 6:30pm in CPAC Meeting Room – hope to see you there, all welcome!!!
